Kelley LaFond, Vintage Lane, LLC Owner & Trainer
Born and raised in the Bay Area, Kelley began riding at the age of 11 and has enjoyed a lifetime love of horses spanning over 30 years. She has ridden as both a professional & highly successful amateur competitor on the A-circuit, winning several major equitation medal finals and year-end national awards. Living locally with her husband and young daughter, she holds a master's degree in education and has 7 years of classroom teaching experience in addition to thousands of hours in the saddle, giving her a unique approach to training horses and riders.
TRAINING PHILOSOPHY FOR RIDERS
Her training methods are based on the classic school of American hunt seat equitation, with solid basics as the core curriculum. With an emphasis placed on creating happiness in one's horse and enjoying the learning process, she is always striving for achivement in her riders. Kelley embraces the teaching methods of the 20th century masters: George Morris, Peter Leone, Beezie Madden, Frank Madden, Anne Kursinski, Gordon Wright and others, and bases much of her flatowork theory in classical dressage. The result is that Vintage Lane riders are well-rounded, traditionally correct and prepared for a lifetime of educated fun in the saddle.
